What we do

What is the Middle Path Healing Arts Approach?

The Middle Path Healing Arts approach to well-being was developed by Éowyn Ahlstrom and starts from the premise that, whatever your challenges and struggles today, the resources for responding to them in a way that moves your life toward greater ease and happiness are already with you, although perhaps hidden or dormant. A range of skillful methods and techniques can be learned and applied to support you in accessing your innate but hidden inner resources. Many of these methods come to us from the ancient wisdom traditions of the east, and others have been developed adapted by modern western science, medicine and psychology. The range of useful methods includes practices that engage your body, heart and mind in a process of healing and transformation. Because each person is unique, the starting place and progression into deeper well-being is also unique. You start where you are, and in collaboration with a skillful guide, like Éowyn, progress in your own way and time. Mindfulness, compassion for self and others, embodiment and deep listening are the basis of all the method, regardless of which aspect of you is most emphasized at any given time.
