Welcome newcomers to mindfulness! This class introduces you to essential practices and helps you explore how they may benefit you. You will be guided in practicing mindfulness both in class and at home.
The class is experiential, and provides regular opportunities to discuss the experiences you are having with the practices. The methods you learn in this class can be applied in your life.
Dates: Sundays: January 11 – February 15

These introduction to mindfulness classes include guided sitting meditations, standing and walking meditations and mindful movement practices (inspired by yoga and qi gong). Additionally, there are guided practices of mindful speaking and listening, time for talks on the ancient teachings that inform the practice, as well as the growing contemporary scientific understandings that are confirming the usefulness of mindfulness in new ways. The emphasis of these classes is on learning to cultivate mindfulness, kindness toward ourselves and others, and steadiness of mind. This can support us in the challenges of our personal lives and beyond.
